Labor Day Weekend may feel like the unofficial end of summer, but at Ocean City’s Coastal Escape RV Park, we have a different way of looking at it.
There is still plenty of camping season left.
Our 2026 season runs from May 15 through October 25, which means Labor Day Weekend is certainly not the time to start saying goodbye to campground life. There are still weeks ahead for family weekends, connecting with friends, disconnecting, quick RV getaways, cooler evenings around the campfire, and those spontaneous trips that sometimes become the best memories of the year.
Before we get to fall camping, though, we have a Labor Day Weekend to celebrate.
Join us Friday, September 4, and Saturday, September 5, for a weekend filled with classic campground fun, including a hayride, Noodle Tag, Sudsy Saturday, a Cornhole Tournament with a $100 account credit on the line, and live music Saturday evening from the Going Rouge Band.
What’s Happening Labor Day Weekend?
Labor Day Weekend is one of those times when the campground seems to have a little extra energy.
Families are outside.
Kids are finding their friends.
Grills are going.
Campers are gathering under their awnings.
And everyone seems to understand that these long summer weekends are worth enjoying while we have them.
Our activities begin Friday evening and continue throughout Saturday.
Friday, September 4
Hayride
7:30 PM
Meet at the Pavilion and take a ride around the campground.
There is something wonderfully simple about a campground hayride.
Kids wave to people sitting outside their RVs. Families ride together. Friends catch up. New campers get a chance to see more of the campground and become part of the weekend atmosphere.
As September begins and the evening starts arriving a little earlier, a 7:30 PM hayride is a relaxing way to kick off Labor Day Weekend.
Come over to the Pavilion, climb aboard, and enjoy the ride.
Saturday, September 5
Saturday brings a full day of campground activities, but there is still plenty of breathing room between events to enjoy your campsite, take a swim, make lunch outside, or simply relax.
Noodle Tag
10:00–11:00 AM
Meet on the Field and get ready to move.
Noodle Tag is a fun way for the kids to start Saturday morning outside instead of in front of a screen.
It is active, simple, and exactly the type of campground game that lets kids be kids.
They can run around, laugh with old friends, meet new ones, and work up an appetite for lunch back at the campsite.
Sudsy Saturday
2:00–2:30 PM
Saturday afternoon means another campground favorite: Sudsy Saturday.
Be prepared to have some fun and probably get a little wet.
Parents may want to bring:
- Towels
- Clothes that can get wet
- A dry change of clothes
- Water shoes if desired
- A phone or camera for a few memorable pictures
It only lasts half an hour, but anyone who has watched kids during Sudsy Saturday knows that sometimes thirty minutes is all you need to create one of the funniest memories of the weekend.
Labor Day Weekend Cornhole Tournament
5:00–7:00 PM
Think you have the best cornhole game in the campground?
Saturday evening is your chance to prove it.
Join us for our Labor Day Weekend Cornhole Tournament and compete against fellow campers for fun, campground bragging rights, and a pretty nice prize.
Winner Receives a $100 Account Credit
That should make the competition a little more interesting.
Whether you play cornhole every weekend or just want to join in and have some fun, come out and give it a shot.
Expect a little friendly competition, plenty of spectators, and probably some advice from people who are very confident they could have made that last throw.
Live Music at the Pavilion

After the Cornhole Tournament, Labor Day Saturday continues with live music at the Pavilion.
Grab your chairs, get comfortable, and enjoy a summer evening with your campground neighbors.
Live music has a way of bringing everybody together.
Some campers will dance.
Some will sing along.
Some will sit back with family and friends and simply enjoy the evening.
There is no complicated plan.
Just good music, a campground full of people, and another Saturday night at the Jersey Shore.
Does Camping Season End After Labor Day?
Absolutely not.
Labor Day may traditionally mark the unofficial end of summer, but our camping season continues until October 25.
That leaves more than seven weeks after Labor Day Weekend to enjoy your RV.
And September and October can offer an entirely different camping experience.
The mornings get a little cooler.
The evening campfire feels a little better.
The crowds around the shore begin to change.
You may find yourself spending more time sitting outside the RV, cooking dinner, taking walks, and enjoying a slower pace.
